Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When my Mum lost all of her hair from her chemotherapy treatments, she was given a synthetic wig to wear.  It was so hot, itchy, ill-fitting and uncomfortable that she had to resort to just wearing a scarf, which made her feel very self conscious and reluctant to go out in public.

This made me want to find out whether there were any alternatives for people like my Mum, to help them feel better about themselves and their appearance while going through the very worst time of their life.

I did my research and discovered that real hair wigs could be made using donated hair and that these wigs were much better for the people wearing them.  This set me on my path for growing my hair as long as possible and donating it for this fantastic purpose.  I then found the Little Princess Trust, who make real hair wigs for children with cancer, and my mission was cemented.

But I didn't want this to just be a one-person mission, so I have organised a hair-cutting event called The Great British Cut Off which is taking place on 22 April 2017.  The idea of this event is to have as many people as possible join me in my mission by cutting and donating their hair too.  So if you would like to donate your hair for this very worthy cause, please contact me to be a part of this event.

A very special thank you needs to go out to two people without whom this event would not be possible.  Firstly to my photographer Sean Riordan who is very kindly donating his photography services at the event, and secondly to Anne at Fringe Benefits Hair Salon on Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith, for so generously donating her hairdressing services.  You are both truly amazing people and I cannot thank you enough for your support and help in making this event a reality.
