Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A year ago I decided to have my hair cut off for charity.
For a few years I've had a rather bizarre OCD/mania thing about keeping my hair long in case my daughter became sick and I needed to give her my hair for a wig. Parent paranoia gone mad! Last year my then six year old daughter had a health scare that frightened the living daylights out of us. After due investigation she was given the all clear and life returned to normal. Except that it made me realise that I don't need to keep growing my hair for her, I need to give it to someone who really does need it.
The annual Rose in June beer festival is in aid of MND. I was attending last year's festival when a young man had his beard and hair clipped and chopped off to raise money for MND. It was at this point, after a few hours of sampling the goods on offer at the beer festival that I had the bright idea to have my hair chopped off at the following years festival, thus realising my potential as a hair donor.
breastcancercare.org.uk and mndassociation.org. are the two charities I wish to raise funds for. This Justgiving page is to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care so any monies you lovely people donate will go entirely to them. My chopped off hair will go to the Little Princess Trust - littleprincesses.org.uk - who make wigs for children.
Now to the interesting part! For MND I WILL HAVE THE REST OF MY HAIR CROPPED TO THE ROOTS IF ENOUGH MONEY IS RAISED ON THE DAY, ON THE SPOT, AT THE TIME, IN THE PUB. So please come to the Rose in June, Milton Road, Portsmouth at 6pm on Saturday 23rd of June and give big so you can all support me in this challenge. Tracy from Escape Hair Lounge - www.facebook.com/EscapehairloungeUk - is coming to do the deed so now all I need is you guys.
So please share this page far and wide, give generously and most importantly I'll see you at the Pub!Thank you for reading
