The PKD charity provides information and support to patients and families affected by polycystic kidney disease, funds research into discovering possible treatments and raises awareness of PKD, providing information to patients, the public, the medical community and the media.

Story

Hi my name is Phillip Box

I love to set myself new challenges all the time, my previous being a 100 mile run in 24 hours. I wanted to take a big step and give myself an extra weight on my shoulders and run various marathons this year with a tumble dryer strapped to my back!

I am doing this to raise awareness of PKD which is very close to my family but is also a very common disease that is not very much known. Since I started raising money for the charity I've found more and more people suffer with Polycystic kidney disease. So I'm doing this for all those who suffer in silence with no real cure other than a transplant, on the hope we can put more money into the research to find more cures.
