Story

As some of you will know my father passed away recently. I am doing the Brabners challenge (with my brothers Greg and Dominic Pope ) to raise money for the Calvert trust - a Lake district focused charity.
The event is on what would have been my fathers birthday. Any support gratefully received - cash or send cakes / pies

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Along with my two brothers Greg and Dominic I am undertaking the Brabner's challenge to raise money in memory of my father (George) Jonathan Pope who died 9th April 2018.

The event is on the 18th May - which co incidentally is also my fathers birthday.

The challenge takes place on his birthday in his favourite place - the Lake District.  It involves boating across Derwent Water, cycling 35 miles including over Honister, Newlands and Windlatter passes followed by walking the 9 mile Coledale horseshoe.

A day combining all my father's favourite activities. The following day we will scatter his ashes on Derwent Water

Thank you for your support for this great cause

About the charity

The Lake District Calvert Trust provides residential outdoor activity courses for people of all ages with physical, sensory, learning, behavioural and/or mental disabilities. Its mission is to challenge disability through outdoor adventure. Pioneering equipment adaptations, and intensive, instructor-led activity programmes (that include climbing, abseiling, canoeing, sailing, horse/trap driving, archery, orienteering and paragliding), provide an environment whose aims are to teach, challenge, motivate, engender confidence in ability, promote independence, and foster integration. All instructors are highly trained and specialist qualified, and the facilities are specially adapted and fully accessible to all. The Lake District Calvert Trust provides a unique and life-changing experience for those with disabilities, who are encouraged to believe that it’s what you CAN do that counts.
