Epilepsy is the most common neurological disorder in the world. In Scotland, it affects 1 in 97 people and that is about 54,000 of the whole population.
Epilepsy Scotland is a charity organization campaigning and advocating for those affected for over 55 years.
Their services among others include:
•    A free and confidential helpline.
•    A contact service which provides free information and support to professionals, individuals with epilepsy as well as family members and carers.
•    A 1-1 support and outreach service for adults with epilepsy, acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities and mental health issues among other disabilities.
•    Several group services including an adult activity group, a youth group in Edinburgh and an adult support group.
Due to funding issues, the charity needs to raise £500,000 a year so they can continue to be a lifeline to individuals.
In support of this, a group of four students from the University of the West of Scotland in partnership with the charity is organizing an awareness and fund raising event on December 2nd , 2016.
