SportsAid helps promising young British athletes with support, recognition & personal development during the early stages of their careers.

My story starts with a spine surgery 11 years back on the back of debilitating disc and near paralysed leg. I had a group of friends at work who expanded my association to Wurlee545 (group of crazy, accomplished friends including one of my spine surgeon). They inspired me to have confidence and cross my physical hurdles by taking up Endurance cycling and now running (since the last two years). 

Attempting a full marathon gives me the opportunity to cross one more obstacle and validate the spirit of “You can do it! Which also mirrors the SportAid mission! 

Additionally participating in this Event on behalf of SportAid provides me the opportunity to contribute to the UK society where I moved recently, working for Barclays. Our Barclays purpose  is ”Creating opportunities to Rise” which also reflects the same spirit of working together to help people rise – customers, clients, colleagues and society. 

My humble appeal to all is to contribute and encourage me to participate in the mission of SportAid and the spirit of Endurance Sports !

Kudos to SportAid, Barclays, Wurlee545 and my near & dear who have inspired me to attempt this event, which a few years back looked impossible even to contemplate.
