My story is:

For Christmas my husband kindly (?) registered me for a cycle challenge - in Madagascar! The challenge is classed as moderate to challenging, so to say I've not been for a ride on my bike for months and months would really be a challenge were it to take place right now. For those of you who know me, this will be my 3rd challenge to raise funds for the Genesis Research Trust (which is dedicated to researching why people miscarry, have stillborn babies and why so many babies are born prematurely. They also look at ways to improve fertility and the chances of successful IVF treatment).

The reason why I continually choose this charity? Over 6 years ago my husband and I were successful after 5 IVF treatments. Heart wrenchingly we lost Lily 8 weeks before her due date and I came very close too. So, if I can save one couple going through the same heartbreak we went through (and still do every day), all the hard work fundraising and training will be worth it. The 1st challenge for me was very important, it gave me something to focus on, aim towards and was also a way to get my body working again. The 2nd challenge was equally as difficult, with more emphasis on fundraising. This time however, my husband and I have a  3 year old, so juggling between family, work, fundraising and training will be more than challenging!

So, although the cycle challenge is not until September 2017, I have 'challenged' myself to raise £3500 by the end of this year (2016), so I can train next year. Wishful thinking? I hope not.
