Story
Hello again! It’s good to be back for the second year running, if you'll pardon the pun.
In this year’s race I shall be Number 590, which is the name of a News Talk Radio Station in Kentucky . 590 is also the name of a Welsh World War One steam engine and a model number for an Epson Printer. Those three sum me up really: talkative and old but capable of high speed.
STOP PRESS! I have just discovered that 590 is a common radio frequency. Common? Huh, not like me of course.
Have you heard of the Massey Ferguson 590 tractor? Or the Burstner 590 motor home? Did you know that the Welsh monk, St. David, died in 590 AD?
It would be brilliant if you could keep FIVE-NINE-O in your mind and maybe even transfer it to your plastic card and sponsor me online for Cancer Research!
I did think about making my fund-raising target £590 but that might be pushing it a bit!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
