Story
In March I was installed as the High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire for the year to March 2018.
High Sheriffs take on a personal responsibility for fundraising for charity throughout their year in office. In my year of office I am undertaking a 3 day walk covering 54 miles in Pembrokeshire from Strumble Head to Druidstone. I will be accompanied by my daughter Rose and 18 of her school friends and parents, so it really will be a challenge!
I am inviting all my friends, family and fellow citizens of Cambridgeshire to sponsor me so I can reach my £15,000 target. All the money I raise will be used to support charitable projects working with young people through the High Sheriff's Award Scheme.
The Cambridgeshire High Sheriff's Award Scheme, set up in Cambridgeshire over 18 years ago, is open to Cambridgeshire (including Peterborough) based organisations working with children and young people to undertake charitable projects. I have decided to focus my support to projects which encourage young people to volunteer in their community for the benefit of others.
The Cambridgeshire High Sheriff's Award Scheme is managed by Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (Reg charity 1103314).
I hope you will follow my story and offer me your support.
