EWWC hedgehog appeal · 18 December 2017

Across England and Wales, we're the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - the UK's largest animal welfare charity. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome many animals each year and campaign and educate to prevent animal cruelty. The RSPCA is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.

Story

We currently have over 304 of our prickly friends, most having been admitted too small to hibernate and are cold, starving, dehydrated and weighing less than 300g.

We keep our hedgehogs on their own in boxes and they are fed adult Pedigree dog food in gravy. To feed a hedgehog it costs over £2 so we will leave the maths to you!! This doesn’t take into account the soft bedding drugs and extra heating to keep them warm and comfortable.

Hedgehogs are released when they are over 600g and the weather is mild so they could all be in the hedgehog hotel for quite some time.

Only with the support of those who give generously to this cause can we continue with the important work we do.
