After having only began running for the past 12 months I have decided to set my self what I feel is a huge physical and mental challenge to run both the Paris and NYC Marathons in the same year! I took part in many events last year all for fun and the experience, however I feel that this challenge gives me the opportunity to raise some money for a charity close to my heart. Marie Curie Cancer Care looked after my Nan in her last few weeks of life and supported our family through a very difficult time. Also having just began my nursing career I would love to be able to raise some money to fund these amazing nurses to care for these terminally ill people, for example £20 pays for a nurse to care for someone for an hour and £160 pays for care all through the night. Marie Curie enable a terminally ill patient and their family to make the most of the time they have left together, which is so important. The memory of my Nan and other family and friends lost to cancer will be with me throughout my training.
