We fund biomedical research into ME to create a strategy for cure/treatment

Story

A very close friend of mine  Sofija has been diagnosed with M.E. (Myalgic Encephaloyelitis, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). It is a severe neurological disease that leaves 25% of patients bed bound. There is currently little treatment available on the NHS and no cure.  Many people don’t understand the impact this disease has on people’s lives so I want to contribute to supporting this vital case and would hugely appreciate your contributions.

Whilst I know Sofija would love to be training with me and running/swimming/cycling alongside me next week,  M.E means that she can’t join me in the activities that we used to do as she is limited to gentle walking and at her worst has left her severely unwell and in bed for prolonged periods of time.  I know she will be thinking of me on the day and I hope your contributions will support her with this debilitating disease.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS).The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff.Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME.Our efforts are focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations, diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).
