Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page at Rainhill Sixth Form. We are a small Sixth Form in St. Helens, Merseyside who want to make a difference so each year, we support a nominated charity which means something to us.
This year we have chosen Meningitis Now which holds special personal significance for our Director of Sixth Form Mr. Hemsley, who unfortunately contracted bacterial meningitis four years ago.
Upon becoming desperately ill in a short space of time Mr. Hemsley would have died within hours but luckily his wife raised the alarm. After being put into a coma for a few days the treatment worked and he made a full recovery.
In gratitude since his life changing illness, Mr. Hemsley encourages others to value every moment and take advantage of opportunities along with volunteering and raising funds for Meningitis Now who help to support sufferers and their families in coping and recovering from this serious illness.
The sentiment of the iconic Dream Sculpture in St. Helens which is nationally recognised as a symbol of hope for the future, serves as a fitting location and monument to visit for our last Sixth Form fundraiser event this year.
So in advance of your generous donation we all thank you for helping Rainhill Sixth Form students and staff raise awareness and funds towards the amazing work the Meningitis Now charity does.
