We run a school in Tema, Ghana to improve the lives of local children

Story

This school in Ghana is a project energetically supported by one of our residents, Deborah, who goes out there to help frequently.

We’re all finding either redundant chattels in the attic or over-delivered cauliflowers in our grocery order, and most of us hate waste. Prior to chucking, a lot of us have started offering this kind of stuff, sometimes for free, sometimes not (and there's no judgement
either way) to members of this Rodenhurst Support WhatsApp group.

Our Team JustGiving page simply allows us to donate some of the money we may have saved on a particular item, to any one of the three excellent charities you've voted for. Of course, you may give elsewhere or not at all, which is fine.

The amount donated is not intended to reflect the value of the exchange; it is a token, and how much is up to you.

You can only give to one charity per donation. There is no way to have a donation split across all three, for instance.

These charities have already told me that a donation of as little as £2.50 is very welcome.

Obviously, anyone wanting to give simply to note their appreciation of some help given, or just to donate, obviously that's great.

In view of often small donations on this sort of page, JustGiving
have helpfully pointed out that  as long as you hit "Other" right at
the end of the process, that will allow you to enter £0.00 and so avoid
the admin contribution that they encourage on larger sums.

About the charity

St. Nicholas Foundation, founded on the belief that Every Child Deserves an Education, runs a school in Tema New Town, Ghana. Our mission is to improve, through education, the lives of local children living in abject poverty, ensuring a better future for them and their families. The school provides pre-school, primary and junior education, but our aim is to see children through their secondary education too - a new annex is currently being built to achieve this. 100% of all donations go to the Foundation.
