Every six hours a child or young person in the Harrogate district is affected by a bereavement, and with an average of 6 people affected by every death, that is approximately 9,000 new people each year in their community that are having to learn to live with a powerful range of confusing and conflicting emotions.

Just “B” is one of the services offered by Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate.  It launched in 2009 as a specialist service to ensure every child touched by bereavement in the local community can access free professional support.

Just “B” are there to help these children and young people deal with the new emotions they are feeling – they provide a safe and confidential space, specifically designed for children,  to let them understand, express and cope with grief in these most distressing of times.

£50 could help them fund one session with one of their experienced practitioners, £100 could help fund a group support session or remembrance event and £500 could help ensure that Just “B” is on hand to offer urgent support should a school, family or community experience a major crisis – every penny we raise will make a huge difference to such a worthwhile cause.
