I'm running the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon for Christian Aid because Katrine Musgrave asked me to! But I've also been a long term, though perhaps not very active, supporter of Christian Aid for years.

I've had a standing order supporting Christian Aid for so many years I've forgotten when I set it up. In many of my parishes I've taken part in house to house collections and been so impressed hearing the stories of what Christian Aid has done in so many parts of the world particularly from Muslim neighbours who knew people who had been supported by Christian Aid. I've friends who visited communities devastated by the Boxing day tsunami and who have seen the self giving work that Christian Aid has done there.

So I'm running to raise money for Christian Aid but also to raise awareness in my benefice and in the local deanery.
