Robin wanted to support Jesmond Library the moment he heard local people wanted to keep it going. He was a firm believer in providing library services to all people in all areas. While visits to Jesmond, our home away from home, were not as frequent or always as long as we would have liked, the community spirit and aspiration that has gone into setting up Jesmond library has been something he has been proud to support. 

Robin passed away on 2 August, 2018. In his memory I am asking friends and loved ones to remember Robin by making a donation of their own choosing to Friends of Jesmond Library.

Robin (Bob) halusi tukea Jesmondin kirjastoa heti, kun kuuli paikallisten vapaaehtoisten jatkavan sen toimintaa. Kunta oli tällöin päättänyt sulkea kirjaston asuinalueeltamme. Hänen vahva mielipiteensä oli, että kaikilla ihmisillä kaikilla alueilla pitää olla pääsy kirjastoon. Vaikka emme aina päässeet Jesmondiin niin usein tai niin pitkäksi aikaa kuin ehkä olisimme halunneet, asuinalueemme yhteishenki ja pyrkimys eteenpäin tässä asiassa olivat Robinille lähellä sydäntä. 

Robin poistui luotamme 2.8.2018. Tämä keräys Jesmondin vapaaehtoisin voimin pyörivälle kirjastolle on Robinin muistolle. Jos pystyt, lahjoita itse valitsemasi summa.
