Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

There is room for 72 high-yield solar panels on the Bishop Street Methodist Church roof. With so many community groups, art events, community café and other great events going on during the daytime in the church, this would make huge strides in making a more sustainable building. It would cut the carbon impact of the many meetings and activities and cut the running costs year on year, to help towards our financial viability for years to come. But to do so we need to pay £23,000 to get the panels installed. Can you help?

Pledges from within the Church have now got to £14,000 which is a really great start, but we need help to get to the total we need. Your donations will help me cycle over the 80 miles of hills around east and north Leicestershire, on the The Tour de Leicestershire 2019, organised by Open Hands. But rather more importantly, they will help make the future of Bishop Street Church better and more sustainable. Thanks for any donation you can make.

If by some chance the total is exceeded we would use any surplus donations towards other energy saving measures in the church premises.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
