Ironman Staffordshire 70.3 2017 · 18 June 2017 ·

We are a voluntary search and rescue team that undertakes well over 100 callouts per year. We assist people who are injured or lost in the mountains & rural areas of South & Mid-Wales. Our members are unpaid and we rely solely on fundraising to achieve the £55,000 needed each year to run the team.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm going to be swimming 1.2 miles, cycling 56 miles and running 13 miles to raise money for Brecon Mountain Rescue because...

If you get into serious trouble on the mountains - getting lost near nightfall or injured -  you might call 999. Did you know that if you are somewhere in the Brecon Beacons area, that means the emergency services will then call Brecon Mountain Rescue?

Incredibly, this organisation is staffed entirely by volunteers who give up their time all year round and who are called out in all weathers - even on Christmas Day or New Year's Day - to help people in distress.

They receive no public money and rely entirely on donations to provide the service and pay for essential equipment and supplies.

Any donation you could make  would mean a lot to Brecon Mountain Rescue and would definitely give me a bit more motivation to get round the triathlon course!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks very much for any support you can give!
