Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have been fortunate enough in the past to benefit from treatment at the Police Treatment Centre. The staff give support and encouragement to aid recovery to help get you back on your feet. It's a charity and they need support to continue what they do best. On 3rd October, I cycled the length of the Forth and Clyde Canal and back on their behalf.

I was originally going to cycle in one direction. When I reached the Kelpies I met a retired (32 years) Grampian police officer, his wife and their daughter. I learned that the gentleman had hearing difficulties and now problems with his eyesight. They had heard of the Police Treatment Centre at Auchterarder and asked me for some information. Hopefully I've pointed them in the right direction.

I also had a challenge from a friend: would the return journey be quicker. The weather was good and after a bite to eat I cycled the return journey to Bowling and then back home. A total today of 81 miles. I've never cycled this far in a day.

If your inspired by this, please feel free to make a donation to this worthy cause. My sincere thanks to those that have already donated. Your support is appreciated.

I'm a member of the Glasgow Lomond and Clyde Branch, International Police Association.
