TSB Staffordshire, North Wales and Shropshire area team will be climbing Snowdon on the 19th May  to raise funds for our nominated charity partners.  There will be a total of 165 of us taking part and we hope to not only raise funds but also the profile of these Charities.

This is an example of the fantastic ethos behind our Charity Partner, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Chester Blood Bikes.

We try not to focus on the money we are saving for the NHS, our motivation is the patients and the benefits we can bring by playing our small part in helping get the treatment they need as quickly as possible, which of course at times can be a life and death situation. Everyone of those 4,318 deliveries we made last year has a patient story at the end of the ride but almost never know just what impact we have. We are simply here in their hour of need, could be their first hours in getting breast milk to premature babies or their last hour of need in making deliveries to a hospice and everything in-between. One of our ’strap lines’ is “One day we could have the ride of your life. No doubt it does save the NHS cash, a taxi ride which would be one of the options available works out at between £2.50 and £3.50 per mile so for sure that bill would run into hundreds of thousands of Pounds. Last year running the service cost us £165,000 and of course that figure rises every year both with inflation and the increasing demand on our services.
