10 Years 10km

Dart 10k 2017 · 9 September 2017 to 10 September 2017 ·
July 2017 marked 10 years since I jumped into the sea in Croatia and broke my back. Swimming has played a huge part in my recovery from that accident, so there seems no better way to mark this anniversary than to enter the 10Km swim down the River Dart in the Dart10k and raise money for Spires.
Spires helps over 800 homeless, vulnerable and isolated people in South London every year. We work to improve the quality of life of those who are homeless or insecurely housed, unemployed, sex working or suffering from the effects of poverty, mental ill-health and loneliness. Through providing one-to-one support and a variety of holistic services, including adult education in literacy, basic skills, well-being and employability courses, Spires strives to offer the best support to those most vulnerable in our community.
Having worked for Spires for over three years, I really can say that the staff's dedication to improving the lives of our clients is outstanding and that the money I raise will go directly to supporting the amazing work that they do.
Thanks so much for reading this and for any donation you are able to make. Your thoughts and donations will definitely keep me swimming on 9th September!
