Fundraising for The Air Ambulance Service
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most people donating will probably know me. Ross McAulley, 40 years of age, happily married to my wife Aimi and together we are proud parents of 2 fantastic daughters.
My story is simple......I have had an easy & happy life, a wonderful childhood, upbringing & for that I am grateful. Admittedly it's been a bit hectic since the birth of the girls but they are great kids and our lives have become easier with their increasing ages. This has given me time to think.......
It has been my aim over the last few months since turning the big 40 to either volunteer for charitable work or to raise money for local, worthwhile charities. To give something back if you like and so I was over the moon to receive a call from The Air Ambulance charity telling me they had secured a place for me in the 2019 London Marathon to run and raise money for them.
The Air Ambulance do amazing work, even more amazing when I realised that the whole set up is ran purely from charitable donations and fundraising........AMAZING.
The Air Ambulance service has reached over 30000 missions and saved thousands of lives over their 15 years in operation. All of us will have seen the yellow or green helicopters flying over us to rush to the scene of accidents, we should feel grateful and reassured that our area is covered by this amazing organisation.
For a man that has never run further than 7.5 miles in one go, this will be a bit tricky no doubt, for those that have seen me run (or not) around a football field you will know that running is not what I'm renown for!!!
I will put everything I can into this, I know what can be done and what needs to be done.
