Hi everyone. This is Kamran Saleem, I am Roumana’s younger brother.

Unfortunately Roumana suffered from a severe chest infection after a normal flu like cold last week. She was admitted to Surrey Royal hospital on Saturday morning for some treatment to help her with her breathing. She was stable but unfortunately at 3am on Sunday morning she had complications with her breathing which led to her heart to stop. Unfortunately despite best efforts from the doctors and nurses on the ward they were unable to revive her. It is with deep regret and absolute heart break that I have to announce that Roumana passed away.

She has left a huge hole in our family and we will never be the same again. She was a massive central part of our family and the best aunty to her 10 nieces and nephews and to one baby nephew Faaris who was born just last week, who Roumana never got to meet. She was the best sister and daughter to our family and a very loving and supporting wife to her husband Imran Butt who will all miss her terribly. Her work colleagues and old friends have all showered us with love, messages and tributes and this really shows what a loving and selfless person Roumana was. With the help of her cousins, friends and medical staff we have been able to secure the release of Roumana from the hospital and will inshallah hold her funeral at Ghamkol sharif Mosque in Birmingham on Friday 12th of January. Guests and visitors wishing to pay respects are invited from 11am. The address is: 150 Golden Hillock Rd, Birmingham, B10 0DX. The genaza (funeral) service will be held at approximately 1pm straight after Friday prayers. There is a visitors gallery, and we invite you to have food with us straight after. We are raising money for Asthma UK to help cure and assist asthma sufferers. If we can stop just one untimely and premature death from breathing related conditions, then it will be worthwhile.
