Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

As part of the Hot Bananas choir, here in Jersey, I'm delighted to have
the chance to raise some funds for our charity of the year, After Breast Cancer Jersey, which does so much to help those affected by the
disease. Please give as generously as you feel able!

Here's the plan:

Over 17 days, starting on 24th August, I will be cycling from the port of St Malo to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, and then south to Lourdes and the Pyrenees, averaging about 100km (and over 1000 metres of climbing) per day.

The first part of the journey, to Paris, I will be solo. That's around 400km in 3 days (actually two long days and 2 half days), and that's where I'll join up with the other 3 members of the team. Then the real hard work starts as we head south down the Loire Valley and into the Massif Central and on towards the Pyrenees.

We'll be camping most nights and carrying our own tents and equipment, so it will be a test of men, machines and French food - on our last trip we consumed about 5000 calories per day!

The total distance is just over 1700km and we'll be climbing over 18,000 metres (or 2.1 Everests) during the 17 days.

The last time we did a trip of this kind was seven years ago, when we rode from Paris to Venice, so we know we can do it - or we know we could then!

You can donate here via JustGiving or in person if you're a fellow Hot Banana (or know me from elsewhere).
