I thought long and hard about whether to fund-raise after getting a ballot place for London as I have been reluctant since finishing my challenge year in 2014 to ask for sponsorship for running when it's something I do anyway, but this is slightly different because:

1 - It's a marathon, which is pretty far! 

2 -  I have not long had a baby, meaning that I not only have to train to run a marathon, but i'm starting again effectively from scratch and I also need to build up a base fitness and rebuild a pretty wrecked body, and

3 - I have to try and fit all this training in around the challenges of new motherhood and all that that entails (think lack of sleep, time and patience) 

My baby wont even be a year old when I attempt to get to this particular finish line, not to mention the 10 races I'm doing in the build up as part of my training including the Lydd 20 mile race, and it takes a lot of organisation, milk pumping and childcare juggling to even get out the door for a training run, so i think this could be worth a penny or two to help motivate me to keep going.

I have chosen the Royal Marsden to support again, as the charity my late friend Suzanne nominated for me back in 2014 before sadly losing her battle with cancer and they have also provided excellent care for several of my family members too.

Cancer is a disease that with funding and research can be beaten back, so please give if you can.
