Story
I am running the London Marathon for the Lord Taverner's, a charity that gives sporting opportunities to disabled and disadvantaged children. As someone who has only ever done one race before, a 5 mile race last year, the prospect of running 26.2 miles seems worringly far away!
However, training has been going well even in the midst of another fierce winter and not only am I aiming to complete the Marathon I am hoping to complete it in under 4 hours running in full cricket whites.
Please help me to my target of raising £1500 for the Lord Taverners by donating whatever you feel appropriate and in doing so help to give children the chance to take part in sport, and allow them to experience the many benefits that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy too.
Thanks in advance,
Rupert
UPDATE: Since returning from a trip to Sri Lanka and not doing any running, I have given up alcohol until the marathon on April 17 for my final push. For those of you that know me, if I manage to go that long without a beer, that in itself deserves a donation so please help me reach my target.
26/3/2011- A massive thank you to everyone who attended and helped out at today's coffee morning. Through a combination of donations, sales of cake and coffee and raffle, the event raised the tremendous total of £601.70 so thanks again for all your generosity and support.
