Story
Earlier this year, our family lost a very special person, our sister Nichola.
Nichola was the most kind, loving and considerate person you could ever hope to meet, and lived with Fanconi Anaemia without a word of complaint. She was a caring sister and excellent mother to her 2 year old son Dylan.
In February, Nichola was diagnosed with an esophageal cancer, and due to her condition, she was not given good chances of survival. There was not enough information and research to create a safe, effective plan for her, and sadly we lost her.
It has struck our family very hard, and we are hoping that from our tragedy and heartache, some good and positive might grow.
On October the 7th Me and Sarah are doing a triathlon in Barcelona to raise money for Fanconi Hope.
The money that Fanconi Hope raises goes into research which aims to give Fanconi patients better care and create guidelines for doctors treating sufferers of the condition.
Currently the charity is focusing their research efforts on developing Proton therapy for treating head and neck cancers, a procedure that will greatly increase chances of survival.
We hope that the money we raise will help other families, and let Fanconi patients live their lives as fully and whole-heartedly as Nichola did. Please dig deep and give generously !
Thanks
Sarah and Ryan
