Fundraising for Meningitis Now
Story
Hello there, my name is Ryan, I’m a survivor of Meningitis. As you can see from this page I’m looking to raise money for a cause that is quite sensitive to me. Back in April 14th 2015, I contracted a rare case of Nesseria Meningitides and as a result of this, I experienced profound hearing loss.
I lost a lot when I contracted Meningitis, but I also gained something I never truly thought I had STRENGTH, BRAVERY, RESILIENCE, all three things you need to be able to make that decision to jump out a plane.
I’ve discovered that the meaning of the skydive has become a kind metaphor for my story. I’m still alive and breathing, others DON’T and that’s NOT because they’re not STRONG It’s sadly down to lack of awareness of the symptoms of Meningitis and regrettably how fast they can take hold over someone. I’m not doing this just for me, I’m doing for all of those people who have lost their fight and those who have lost beloved one. Without the charity I’m doing this on behalf of, there would not have been the support I and others have so desperately needed to come to terms with the impact Meningitis has had on us.
Meningitis Now doesn’t just support survivors but family and friends of those who have been affected. Support provided is vital for those who have have been impacted by Meningitis. Fundraising is what provides us with support, funding and preventative research. to those impacted. I’ve received mine, NOW it’s time to give something back
I have one favour to ask you… SUPPORT ME to give something back.
I want all the funding to go to this course and to make that happen, I’ve paid for my skydive upfront and won’t be using any of the money raised towards the expenses.
