We provide children's hospice care to children and families across Sussex

Story

As host of the 2017 Senior Women in Policing Conference, Sussex Police are inviting delegates to help contribute to Chestnut Tree House by taking part in a charity fun run in support of the Chief Constable's chosen charity for 2017.

Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice  provides specialist palliative care services for 300 children with life shortening conditions across East and West Sussex as well as South Hampshire. The hospice provides care both at their purpose built hospice in Arundel and in families own homes through their outreach services.

The services that they offer include assessment, advice and information; specialist short breaks, emergency care, end of life care and bereavement support.

The goal at Chestnut Tree House is to provide the best quality of life for children, young people and their families throughout each child's life, however short it may be. It costs well over £3.5 million each year to offer all of their care services. The hospice relies heavily on the support of the local community in order to continue offering care to children and families across Sussex.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help make a genuine difference to  the children that the hospice cares for and their families. We hope as many delegates as possible will join us on the run.

You can also support the runners with a donation to this charity fun run.

Thank you to the brilliant Sussex Plodders - the Sussex Police Running Club- for supporting SWiP in Sussex with this event.
