Alexander Jansons Fund was set up after the death of Alexander from myocarditis, he was 18 years old. Myocarditis is a virus which attacks the heart and affects all ages but frequently in the young.

Story

I am running the London Marathon 2019 to raise money for the Alexander Jansons Fund.

In 2012 I had an attack of Myocarditis, an infection that attacks the wall around the heart. It was a very serious time and after two hospital stays I was fortunate enough to recover after a few weeks. Many, many people are not as lucky, it is sometimes referred to as a "Sudden Death Syndrome" which describes a third of outcomes without need for further word.

Not too long after my bout I had heard about the launch of the Alexander Jansons Fund and began helping in any way I could, mostly with Video Production and Photography. Without suffering any long term damage I now have the opportunity to raise money for them and what could be more fitting for raising money for a heart condition than to run a marathon! Any donations will go toward research into the causes, prevention and finding cures for Myocarditis.

Please if you can do so, donate toward this cause and help the AJF & Cardiomyopathy UK attain a better understanding of Myocarditis so we can prevent and potentially cure otherwise typically healthy people. I would be eternally grateful, thank you.
