Story

As many of you know, this year I will be running my first ever marathon in London on Sunday 23rd April 2017. I have decided to run for the charity Muscular Dystrophy UK. This is a very personal charity to me as my Uncle, Tony battles with this cruel condition everyday of his life, which causes his muscles to weaken daily.

Sadly this year, my family had to rush down to Manchester's Wythenshawe hospital with little notice where my Uncle, Tony was quite literally fighting for his life. thanks to the fantastic hospital staff and my Uncle, Tony's inner strength he has lived to fight another day, but each time these attacks take a little bit more out of his remaining mobility and reduce his daily quality of life even further.

Therefore, I have decided to run the London Marathon proudly wearing my Muscular Dystrophy UK orange vest to raise awareness and hopefully some funds to help the charity fight this terrible disease so in future our family and friends may not have to suffer from this terrible cruel disease one day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my uncle's condition and we both hugely appreciate anything you can donate no matter how little to help this fantastic cause.

Thanks, Samuel Platt (Proud Nephew of my brave uncle, Tony)
