Story
"It's been nice to meet you".
Since my Grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2014 I've slowly gotten used to these conversations but it's still heartbreaking every time.
Anybody who knows my Grandma will tell you she's a woman who loves to shop, loves her holidays, is obsessed with Blackpool, is funny and adores her grandchildren.
Witnessing the effects of dementia on a loved one is bloody difficult for everyone involved and sadly my family aren't alone; by 2025 1 MILLION people in the UK living with dementia, which brings me on to my little challenge.
On 18th March I'll be walking 100k in 24 hours for the Alzheimer's Society.
The care and support the Alzheimer's Society provide is invaluable not just for the person living with the disease but their families too.
