Our vision is of a world where everyone, everywhere has equal rights. We will work until every person who is Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer + is living free from discrimination, prejudice and inequality, making our shared future safer, fairer and more prosperous.

Story

This year, I got the honour of interviewing some of the first gay couples to tie the knot in Britain.  Whether you want to get married, or hate the idea, I love that you can now choose.  We have come a long way since people were pelted with beer cans and coins at the first ever UK pride.

But saying this, we have still got so much more work to do. Homophobic bullying in schools is rife, suicide amongst queer folks is still too high (one survey found 44% of young LGBT people have considered suicide), and I have friends that can't tell their own parents that they are in love with someone of the same sex. Step outside Britain and homophobia is on the rise - leading people to flee their homes in fear of their lives.

I've seen first hand, through my reporting, how important Stonewall is in the fight for equal rights. They are not only campaigning to change laws, but also to change minds. They need all the funds they can get. Every pound you donate will go directly to Stonewall (I've committed to covering the cost of the jump - but do please tick Gift Aid, as this will help me generate some extra pounds towards it). Thanks all. You rock.
