A few years ago I survived an attack of cervical cancer, thanks to our brilliant NHS and a wonderful surgeon. Around the same time my sort-of stepsister Jeanine was treated for breast cancer. 

I found out last month that one of my dearest friends has been diagnosed with cancer, shortly after her baby was born. The prognosis is good and her treatment will start soon, but for me, that was the last straw. Cancer disrupts and wrecks the lives of people I love, and I'd like to do something to end the misery. 

So, this January I’m taking on Dryathlon® and raising money for Cancer Research UK. I’ll be ditching the drink for one month to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Please dig deep and donate now.
