We run co-operative groups for children to make friends and learn about big ideas

Story

Jack (11yo), Aidan (9yo) & Scott are walking the 33.5mile length of the Basingstoke Canel, from the Wey Navigation at New Haw to the Greywell tunnel.

Due to little legs, we’re walking over 2 days: Saturday 24th Aug (New Haw - Mytchett) & Sunday 25th Aug (Mytchett - Greywell).

We’re doing the walk to help The Woodcraft Folk subsidise the cost for young people to attend the International Summer Camp 2020, to meet, play & learn with fellow Woodies from many other countries.

Thanks for helping us.

At Woodcraft Folk we believe passionately in equality and co-operation: everyone is welcome to join our groups. Our aim is to have great fun, but also to try to develop children’s self-confidence and build their awareness of society around them.Through our activities, outings and camps we help our members to understand important issues like the environment, world debt and global conflict, to develop activities focused on sustainable development, and to encourage children to think, hoping that they will help build a peaceful, fairer world.
