We fund vital research into neuroblastoma to find new and better treatments

Story

Hi my name is Scott Morris and between 9th and 15th May, across all 3 sports centres in Blaenau Gwent, I will be completing 7 Olympic distance triathlons over 7 days (1500m swim 24 mile bike and 10k run) to raise as much money as possible for neuroblastoma.org.uk.

I am doing this in memory of a little girl called Eva and this is her mothers story....

"My beautiful little girl Eva (known fondly as Eva Diva) was diagnosed in February 2016 (age 6) with a rare aggressive children’s cancer, called Neuroblastoma which was located in her abdomen. Neuroblastoma is the second most common solid tumour in children, with around 100 children in the UK diagnosed each year.

Her battle with this aggressive form of cancer lasted 15 months. Eva's strength was incredible and she never complained. After numerous rounds of chemotherapy, major surgery and radiotherapy, Eva's cancer could not be cleared from her bone marrow and she developed secondary tumours throughout her little body. She was sadly taken from us in May 2017 when she lost her battle, but her strength, courage and humour will never be forgotten."

The courage that Eva showed was amazing and the strength that Lauri, her family and friends at Ebbw Fawr Primary displayed was outstanding. In memory of Eva, her strength and courage I want to support the fight against this childhood cancer.

This will be a real challenge for me physically, mentally and emotionally but with the support of family and friends I’m sure I will be able to raise as much money as possible so that ultimately, one day we will find a cure for this awful disease and stop 2 families in the UK, every week, hearing the devastating news that no parent should hear, that their child has neuroblastoma.

If you’d like to join me on any part of this challenge, bike and run routes will be displayed in the sports centres. I’d really appreciate your support.

Thank you.
