February 2018

So hear I am again training for London ! This time last year I had a foot operation to remove a glass splinter which stopped me training for London 2017! This year however I am already into week 6 of marathon training and all is going well. I do have a goal this time round but I am not going to disclose that yet! I have arranged a cake sale on 7th April and hope to do a bag pack at Tesco in order to meet my target of £2000. I would like to thank all the volunteers that are baking for me and have given up their time, also to the people who have volunteered to help with the bag packing, really appreciate everybody help.

October 28th 2017

Yay I did it!!! My 1st marathon complete at the ripe old age of 43! I went and laced up the trainers, didn't have a time in mind but wanted to complete it in under 5 hrs, and just ran through the Snowdonian mountains ! A day I will never forget. Great training buddies helped me achieve my goal and I finished in 4hrs 26 mins. A short rest now before training starts for London 2018!!!

Feeling Sad but hopeful ! October 2017

Feeling so disappointed with not making London 2017 I was determined to complete another challenge (even if I was guaranteed to enter London 2018!) I have been training for the Eryri Snowdon Marathon and have almost made it to the start line in one piece!!! I had a slight IT Band injury which I rested for 3 weeks and so far so good. I have fantastic training buddies who are as mad as me getting up at 5am to eat breakfast and complete long, dark runs & climb through all sorts of terrain and cattle!!!!!

SO........on the 28th October I will be lacing up the trainers and hopefully completing 26 miles of ups and downs (I'm told there are 3 big hills!!!!) Hope the weather is a little kind and I'm not blown off the mountain!

I am completing this challenge for our daughter Chiara who was simply born too soon. The hope is to keep her memory alive, because she is our beautiful daughter, and also to raise awareness of the tremendous work SANDS does to support families, train midwives how to deal with such awful circumstances and continue to fund research into preventative measures. The SANDS 3 year strategy 2017-2020 strive to reduce the number of babies that die and of those that sadly do the aim is to improve care which was seriously lacking when we experienced our loss. Please support me by spreading awareness as that is sometimes more important than anything! I am also running the London marathon in April so will be completing 2 marathons in 6 months. My page will be live for London so I will update my training and hopefully my success!!!!!

London 2017 came and went....

What a year that was!!! All ready to run the London Marathon 2017 then a small glass splinter in my foot resulted in an operation to remove it followed by a stress fracture and almost 4 months off running!!!!! I have automatic entry to London 2018 and can't wait to train again, injury free of course. This gives me a huge opportunity to fundraise for Sands and I need all the help I can.............

 My Personal Story

People always say 'your lucky you have 4 beautiful healthy children' that I am grateful for. However they never mention the day we said goodbye to our daughter Chiara. Everyone said we were lucky we had our children to keep us strong, I will however always question the people who have children and ask which one of your children would you give up?!?! The answers to that question I already know, none as every child is a special gift 🎁 We struggled and conquered the Ivf journey but were still left wondering why us?? Three Healthy children after years of failure then suddenly everything went wrong ! I am grateful for my children, for my angel baby and for being blessed with another daughter after our loss. I am thankful for finding a sport 'running' that enables me to switch off and be me, away from the stresses of life. I am running the London marathon in memory of our daughter and to raise awareness of all the work Sands does to support parents during this sad time.

Please help me support this great cause I would really appreciate your help!!  For those who have previously supported and sponsored me I am truly grateful, thank you 🙏🏻
