Story

I knew very little about Motor Neurone Disease until 2015 when a member of a very special family was diagnosed with this horrible disease.

Motor Neurone Disease is a fatal rapidly progressing disease that effects the Brain and Spinal cord. The disease kills a third of people within a year and more than half within 2 years of diagnosis.

MND can leave people locked in a failing body unable to move, talk, swallow and eventually breathe.

There is no cure........

In June 2016 I decided to join a team of "mature" ladies to row the Atlantic Ocean. This will be the biggest challenge of my life which I look forward to with some excitement and a degree of trepidation. On December 12th we will start to row 3000 nautical miles from La Gomera to Antigua which may take anything up to 60-70 days or more to complete. We will be rowing in a small ocean rowing boat and be completely at the mercy of the ocean and the elements.

For more information about the challenge please visit the Atlantic Campaigns Website: https://www.atlanticcampaigns.com/

For more information about the crew and our journey so far please visit our website:http://atlanticladies.co and our Facebook page: Atlantic Ladies Row for Charity.

We are each rowing for our own chosen charity which includes Cancer Macmillan, Altzheimers Association and Relapsing Ploychondritis.

If you would like to donate to all 4 charities this can be done through our Atlantic Ladies website.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and thank you in advance for your donation however small- every penny will be used for further research for a much needed cure for MND.
