Fundraising for Children on the Edge
Story
I will be joining Children on the Edge at its Child Friendly Space in Uganda in June.
Child sacrifice, abuse and malnutrition were all common place in the Soweto slum before the charity became involved.
The Child Friendly Space provides a safe place for children to get an education and talk about their, often traumatic, experiences.
I will be visiting during the Play Scheme week, helping the children grow in confidence, explore their curriculum in new and creative ways and learn new methods of sharing about their lives.
I am funding the trip myself so any donations made will go straight to the charity's work in Uganda.
Money will be used to buy specific items for the project including T-shirts for the child protection committee and potters wheels to help women trying to set up their own businesses to support themselves and their families.
