Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.

Story
I am raising much needed funds for Ty hafans childrens hospice in Sully, Cardiff.

In January 2013 my Niece Evie Alys Footman was transfered there after a 4 month battle for life in both Singleton hospital & in the University of Wales hospital Cardiff.

Evie was born on 15th September 2012 at a gestation of 26 weeks, 14 weeks premature. An unknow pregnancy caused her mother, Sian, to deliver Evie at home. She suffered severe depravation of oxygen & her whole entrance into the world was extreme.

After being taken to the neo-natal ward in Singleton the managed to settle her but she was not out of the woods yet.

Evie contracted NEC (necrotising enterocolitis) & had to undergo major surgery, still before her full gestation. Corrective surgery had to follow also.

After months of constant care and major ups & downs in her condition, Evie decided enough was enough.

On January 25th 2013, Evie was transfered to Ty hafan for end of life care. These next few days she was with us we were supported amazingly and managed to do so many things you can expect to do with your new born (including appearing on the ITV Wales news). However on January 30th 2013 Evie passed away in her mum's arms.

The support Ty hafan gave her parents and sister on the days that followed was unbelievable and to this day they continue to support them as a family.

So please, spare 50p or £50.00, anything you can & help show your support for such an amazing place. Help raise much much needed funds so other families can have the great support we have had.

I also need to say a huge thank you to Joanne  at Joshua's barbers from Mumbles, how have agreed too do the cutting.
