Story

London’s choirs and singers are joining together to sing for Ukraine on Sunday 13 March at 3pm to raise funds for the Ukrainian people and to show our solidarity. We are singing for peace, and all are invited to join us whether singing or spectating. All donations for this fundraising event are going to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

We will confirm the pieces that we’ll be singing very soon, so please do check back to find out what they are. David Hill MBE will be conducting, and we'll ensure that the scores will be downloadable so that you can read them from your phone.

The event will be held at the Hyde Park Bandstand in the south eastern corner of the park, near the Queen Elizabeth Gates. Please ensure that you arrive at the bandstand specifically, and make sure to arrive at 3pm and no earlier to ensure that we are working with the Council’s rules and regulations. Once you get there, wait for David Hill to get the singing underway. At 3.30pm we will peacefully disperse.

We’re suggesting that everyone who attends this event donates whatever amount they can afford to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal - your donation will help Ukrainians in crisis to obtain food, water, first aid, medicine, warm clothes and shelter. We’d urge you to donate if you can’t make it along, too.

Important information (please read)

Please join us only if you intend to do so in the spirit of peace and solidarity - make sure you’re behaving respectfully and sensitively during and after the event and leave the park as you found it by taking all of your belongings and litter with you.

Changes in location and timing are possible - if these happen, they will be communicated here, so please do check back.

You’ll be responsible for any children or vulnerable adults you bring with you, so please keep them with you at all times. If anyone does get lost, our marshals are there to help (they will be identifiable from their high-vis jackets) and we’ll have a rendezvous point at the bandstand.

There’s limited parking at Hyde Park, so please come by public transport if you can. If you do need to drive, pay and display parking is available in West Carriage Drive and in the car parks at either end of the Serpentine Bridge. Please park in an authorised space and don’t obstruct roadways or pavements.
