Trekstock engages with young people by fundraising through fashion and music and donates its profits in support of Cancer Research UK's research into cancers that affect children and teenagers. Trekstock aims to raise awareness of cancer in young people, ensure young people with cancer get the information they need about their disease and raise money to help fund specific research into the cancers which specifically affect this age group.

Trekstock was founded in 2006 and since then has raised thousands of pounds and awareness for young people with cancer through one-off collaborations in music and fashion, with national PR in titles such as Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Cosmo NME, Sunday Times Style, Time Out, The Daily Mail and invaluable support from world famous artists and celebrities; Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Alan Carr, to name a but a few!

In 2010, we held our official charity launch at Downing Street, by invitation of the ex-Chancellor Alistair Darling and his wife Maggie. Trekstock has grown from 1 person, Director & Founder Sophie Epstone, to a charity with fundraising teams in Leeds, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, with access to Cancer Research UK's regional volunteers and resources which is invaluable for us as a small, growing charity.

In 2010, Trekstock became a partner of Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK is not only the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research, but they are also the largest funder of research into children's cancer in the UK. This research takes place across the UK, including Scotland, and Trekstock can take charity champions to see some of this great work to inspire them and ensure they can see the impact their fundraising is making. Through our partnership, we also have access to account management support from their dynamic corporate partnerships and events teams and their active lifestyle events across the UK.

We passionately believe that Trekstock is a great fit for youth brands - sharing brand values of having fun and challenging the status quo, which is why we created Trekstock as a new way to engage with young people about cancer through the things that really matter to them, like music and fashion. Mark Ronson is our first Patron; however we are planning to engage further celebrity support from the world of fashion, music, sport and art.

ABOUT CANCERS IN CHILDREN, TEENAGERS AND YOUNG ADULTS

Although childhood cancer is rare, it is the most common cause of death from illness in children aged 0-14. Leukaemia is the most common cancer in children, accounting for around a third of all cases. Teenagers and young adults tend to develop a mixture of certain childhood and adult cancers. Hodgkin's lymphoma is the most common form of cancer in 15-24 year olds, accounting for around 15% of all cases. Thanks to major advances in treatment, around three quarters of children, teenagers and young adults with cancer are now successfully treated.

COMMUNICATION

As a young charity, Trekstock naturally communicates with partners and supporters through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, YouTube, Flickr) and has an active online community of supporters and friends from major brands and organisations. The charity holds live fundraising events, shows and comedy nights and has presence at many of the UK's major music festivals. In addition Trekstock has been fixture in the UK fashion calendar for the past two seasons with it's own label 'Trekstock Loves.'

Trekstock strives to provide a platform to combine music and fashion to target and educate the young, whilst raising awareness and proceeds towards combating the fight against cancer and today, this is more relevant than ever.

So please dig deep and donate now.
