Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded St Martin's Herne £286000 towards a total cost of £358900 to perform urgent repairs to the Tower, West Wall, and Roof

As result of reaching out to the wider community to gain support for the project,   we aim to engage  a more diverse number of people with the church building. The information arising from the repair work, will constitute the basis of talks and exhibitions, either in the church or in the local library. We hope to engage with the local primary school and higher education students for educational visits on all aspects of the project: church and local history, possibly interesting archaeological finds, or the unusual and challenging construction methods.

In order to host these events we are planning to upgrade our  toilet facilities to cope.
