Story
We’re thrilled to announce Star Club’s very first
Spooktacular will be hosted at the club from 11am-1pm on the 29th
October, in aid of St Johns Hospice.
The main event will be a competition hosted on the water!
We’re asking rowers to rock up and row in their most ghastly gear, parading up
and down the river in fancy dress. There will be prizes for the best dressed
oarsman/woman and for the best team name.
Off the water, we’ll be hosting an earie early grave ergo
competition, where you’ll be able to compete on a rowing machine in a 500m
dash. It won’t be easy though, as our junior spook squad do their best to
distract you as your sprint to the finish.
We’ll also have something for the little ones, with fun and
games around the club and face painting on offer!
Finally, in the bar we’ll be hosting a creep cake off, where
bakers are encouraged to bring their spookiest sponges to be sold along side
tea & coffee. Simply turn in your cake at the bar by 10.30am on the day, to
be sold as part of our refreshments stand.
Price giving will commence at 12:45pm in the bar!
All proceeds will go to St Johns Hospice, supported by Sue Ryder.
Below you’ll find sponsorship forms for companies to match a % of the overall
total raised on the day. You’ll also find a printable poster to spread
awareness in schools, workplaces and local communities (with permission of
course!).
To enter a boat as part of the parade, please email info@starclubrowing.co.uk with your
boat name and oarsmen. We’ll then send you your boating time. Please organise boat availability with your
coaches.
We’ll see you there!
