Story
This time around I am going to double the distance, by taking part in the Brighton marathon, in preparation for the April event I will also be running the Cambridge Half Marathon again (this time hoping for a new PB under the 2 hour mark) once again I am running and fundraising for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
Most people know, that Nat and I sadly lost our hero our daddy,
in 2013 after we tried hard to support him fight the biggest battle of
his life, when he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Like most we spent
every day fighting, researching, staying positive and believing, but
when Dad's journey got to painful to stay at home, the Arthur Rank
Hospice took the three of us in, like we were family, with love,
compassion, respect, space and care. It's hard to explain the pain and the feelings, but we are truly forever thankful to them, for making our remaining time as special as it could have been.
I have made a pledge that within my life time I want to be able to pay back the money it would have cost for dads stay and care at Arthur Rank Hospice. The cost of the stay is roughly £250 per day and Dad fought so hard that we managed to rack up a bill of some £10'000 for 40 night stay in their most amazing care.
Most people who knew dad, would know that although he rarely had a spare penny, he was the most generous and kind person and would have given away his last anything for someone else, he was a very proud man and never liked receiving things without giving something back. Therefore, I know, that if he was still here today, he would want to give all that he could, his energy, his time and his last penny to this amazing charity.
To date, with your support I have managed to raise £745 last year and £1286 the year prior running the Cambridge half marathon with my sister, Natalie. So I only have £7969 left to go - Thank you for your support :)))
ARHC is purely run by fund raising and donations and it is for that reason I would love your support, to ensure other families also receive their amazing care. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Daddy....
Like a butterfly emerges, and unfolds its graceful wings.
A child grows and develops with the love a father brings
I'm thankful for the times that you encouraged me to try, for God gave me my wings.
But Daddy you taught me how to fly.
Your girls:) xxx
