Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours and is not one for the faint hearted, 3 peaks, 3 countries, 26 miles of walking and a total of 9800ft of ascent.

Our team for this challenge is Myself (Steve Andrews) Nicki Andrews, Danny Howard and our all important driver Anna Howard.

The challenge begins in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three.

From there the we will drive south into the Lake District where we will climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).

The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at no less than 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.

We will make our way to Scotland on Sunday 8th May for an overnight stop ready to start our challenge at 5.30pm on Monday 9th May and all going well will be completed by 5.30pm Tuesday 10th May. Whilst taking on this challenge we aim to raise money for Honeylands children's charity.

The 5th June 2014 saw the birth of mine and Nicki's niece Evelyn Rose Tomlinson. Diagnosed with Trisomy 21 (Down's Syndrome), transient abnormal myelopoiesis, holes in the heart and feeding difficulties she has had a tough start to her life. This made things hard for everyone involved, none more so than her parents Jenny and Emjay, that's where Honeylands Children Centre of Exeter have played a major part. Here they offered support and a better understanding with their expertise of young children with Down's Syndrome.

Evelyn attends Honeylands regularly where she gets help with her educational and physical needs. Thanks to those who have helped with her development she has come on leaps and bounds in that time and continues to do so.

It is this reason why we'd love to raise some money for Honeylands to help them continue their excellent work providing a brilliant service in helping others in similar circumstances to our beautiful Evelyn.
