We (Steve Wedge, Steve Hart, Pat Neill, Ian Gough, Graeme Barr) are going to be riding from St Paul's Cathedral to York Minster over 3 days in July over a route of approximately 240 miles. so this should be quite challenging for us. We'd like to invite you to sponsor us and help us to raise money for Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP) www.tvap.co.uk.

The £640 offline donation covers the monies that were donated via Charitygiving.co.uk which we hope will be forwarded to TVAP by the administrators of The Dove Trust

 

TVAP is based on a 2.5 acre site adjacent to the A4 in Taplow, near Maidenhead, the Playground is open to children and adults with all types of special need, however, mild or profound, their siblings and parents/carers. It first opened its doors in 1982.  During that first summer holiday around half a dozen children visited each day.  In the course of the last 12 months over 13,600 visits were made by children and adults with all types of special need.

The Playground costs are approaching £350,000 a year to run, with as little as 5% of the money it needs each year coming from local authority funding and is therefore heavily reliant on the support of the local community, 53% of the Playground's annual income is raised through grants, general donations and fundraising events and through the generosity of local business.

The facilities are used by children, young people and adults from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, London and the surrounding counties.
