Story
It is almost two years since a routine visit to my GP lead to me becoming aware of my illness. Behaviour and symptoms, that I had become to regard as normal, suggested serious mental health problems. I was fortunate that he had noticed and questioned these, as many others, including my employer, did not have the awareness of mental health issues or their causes, or how to assist those who were suffering.
My aim in cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats, is to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health, and how caring working and social environments, and regular exercise, can help.
Please support me by making a donation to Mind BLMK. I have funded the ride myself, so donations will be wholly for the benefit of the charity.
Mind BLMK works across our communities to support positive mental health and wellbeing. Working closely with a range of partners, we offer a number of activities from our wellbeing centres and local venues to make a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of people in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes, and our aim is to make sure that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
