We raise life-changing funds to enhance care at UHS

Story

Southampton Children's Hospital Charity helps to enhance the care and treatment of children at University Hospital Southampton. They raise money and provide financial support to areas of the hospital service that lie beyond the scope of NHS funding. Stormforce Coaching are specifically supporting the Children's Emergency and Trauma Department Appeal. Having joined the 100 Club we and 99 other organisations/groups will each have a target of raising £10,000 by the summer of 2018. Together the 100 Club aims to fund half of the £2M project.

RACE FOR SOUTHAMPTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL EMERGENCY & TRAUMA DEPARTMENT

We are therefore devoting 50%  of all fees paid to us from the 2018 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta to this appeal. That means that for every pound you spend with us on this event, 50 pence will go straight to the appeal and you will get to race in the Caribbean's biggest yacht regatta.

HOW ARE WE DOING THIS?

· Stormforce Coaching are providing their standard package at half price, they will underwrite all of the usual expenses (meals, staff travel, race ready yacht, regatta damage, regatta insurance, first mate, berthing etc.), however will forego 50% of income. In effect they are foregoing all profit and partly subsiding the cost of the event.

· The Heinaken Regatta organiser have kindly offered to waive our entry fee

· The race skipper, Doug is giving his time and expertise for free.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE A CARIBBEAN EVENT AND NOT A UK EVENT?

The answer to this is quite simple, we are obliged to charge you VAT on any racing you do with us in the UK, but we are not obliged to do so for events in the Caribbean. We want your money to help build the new department and not to go to HMRC.

HOW MUCH CAN WE RAISE?

There are 10 crew places on board (excluding skipper and mate) and they are £1,399 each. If just 8 sailors join us, that alone will raise over £5,600 for the appeal. With your help we hope to raise additional funds through this page. Our target is therefore £10,000.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

· If you are interested in booking then book, do not wait around. There is literally a race to raise the necessary money. Bookings are handled by our office and/or through our website

· If you can’t race in the Caribbean then donate here.

· If you think you might know anyone else who can help, who will donate or who will book, then forward them this webpage. Spread the word!

· We need a polo shirt provider to print 24 polo shirts for the event

· We are open to any other offers of help that will make this package more attractive and therefore help raise money.

CHILDREN DESERVE TO BE TREATED IN A SPECIALISED CHILDREN'S EMERGENCY & TRAUMA DEPARTMENT SO WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EVENT & PLEASE DONATE!
